After you have trusted Christ as your Saviour you should:

  1. Realize that you are a new person in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are pssed away; behold, all things are become new."

  2. Understand that you are saved forever. John 10:27-29 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."  Romans 8:38-39 "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."  1 Peter 1:5 "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

  3. Make public profession of your salvation in a local Bible preaching church and before others. Matthew 10:32 "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven."

  4. Be baptized in obedience to the command of Christ. Matthew 28:19-20 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."  1 Peter 3:21 "Then like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"

  5. Attend regularly and support a Bible-preaching church. 1 Corinthians 16:2 "Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come."  Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

  6. Pray and read your Bible everyday. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing."  2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

  7. Live your new life in the power of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;"
