"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." II Corinthians 1:3-4

The Message

In recent articles, we have shared with you our hope for new beginnings, the ministry we have been given, our heritage and the ancient landmarks that keep us on course, and our vision for the future. But although we strive to offer the “comfort wherewith we ourselves have been comforted,” this would be impossible in our own strength. The only way it is possible, is because of the message.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16

When PFW began some of us, who are still here, had young children; now we have grandchildren. Children are the most precious evidence of the gift of love that a couple gives to one another. However, when those grandchildren come along, new life is breathed into that love. Perhaps it is because we see another extension of the expression of our love, and so we know that even though our lives are as vapors, the reality of that love will continue into the next generations. Perhaps it is because we once again are given the responsibility (as grandparents this time), to teach these new little ones of the gift that God gave to the world. And perhaps it is because we know now what we didn’t know with our own children, the urgency of the message, how swiftly the years go by, and how little time there really is to teach and mold them.

In other words, we must teach them the Message. That God not only created us, but also has the power and the absolute right to do whatever He would please in our lives. However, God loved us so much, that rather than demand anything from us, He gave us a choice and because of that choice, sin entered the world. But, God did not quit loving us, He didn’t scrap the whole plan. In fact, before the earth was formed God knew what the end result of the Garden would be. But He loved us so much that He had already made provision for Adams fall. He took the most precious Love Gift that He had, His only begotten son Jesus Christ, that through Him the world can have eternal life. Born of a virgin, Immanuel (God with us) grew from infancy to manhood, Sinless perfection clothed in human flesh. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He was offered up on a cruel cross, giving Himself as the sacrifice for the sins of All.

God’s judgment and wrath for a sinful world - those that reject His Son, His Plan - will not be escaped.

"“For every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord."

But, if we receive the Gift of His Love for us, Jesus Christ, His mercy and grace removes from the believer once and for all the sin which requires justice. Jesus stands in our place and says “the debt has been paid.” When we “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” we receive Him as God’s perfect and only plan for salvation. There is no other way to heaven. Salvation is the most important message that we have. But praise the Lord, with salvation comes healing, joy, peace, comfort, victory and power. All that we need to live is offered to us when we accept the covering of the precious blood.

One last thought of encouragement for each one of us; God gave us the most precious Love Gift - His Son.

John 10:29 “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.” We are a Love Gift from the Father God, to the Son. Would the world recognize His Gift in us?
