"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." II Corinthians 1:3-4

Ancient Landmarks

"Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set" Proverbs 22:28

Last month we looked forward with anticipation to New Beginnings for our Ladies' Ministry in this New Year. This month however, we want to pause and look back at where Purrrfect For Women came from, and reflect upon what it's goals were and are.

On the front cover you will find our ministry's purpose: II Corinthians 1:3-4 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."

Let's take a moment to remind both ourselves and our readers, Who we serve, what our ministry is, and why we once again pick up the mantle that was laid down.

First and foremost our goal is to bring Glory to God. Because of His great love for us, as our Creator and Saviour, we sincerely desire to serve Jesus Christ. We have no value apart from Him, and owe no other our allegiance, only to our Blessed Redeemer who has ransomed our souls and declared us worthy.

Our Ministry is one of comfort. We are Ambassadors with a message of hope to deliver. In a world full of darkness, we represent the King. Our purpose is to share the victories and the triumphs in our personal journeys, but also to share the hurt and heartache that God used in our lives to prepare us to be useful in His service.

Last, but not least, it is not for our own benefit that we make the commitment to place this mantle back upon our shoulders. No ladies, it is because of the mercies which we have been shown, because of the comfort we ourselves have received, because we are living proof of the mercies and comfort of a Loving God. The great need which spoke to Victoria and the ladies' hearts 19 years ago, is in no way diminished in 2008, and is still there speaking to Lisa and the ladies now. We live in a hurting world, but what joy to share that comfort which calms the storms, which puts out the fire, which heals the hurt, with all who are in any trouble.

And so, we the ladies of Broken Arrow Baptist Church, renew and reaffirm our commitment not only to you, but to ourselves, that even as we go forward, looking at new paths, setting new goals, reaching for new horizons, that the landmarks set in place by those who have gone before us will not be moved.
